Vassilia Zorba is a Physicist Staff Scientist and Group Leader in the Laser Technologies Group. Her work focuses on the development of next-generation spectroscopy tools based on ultrafast lasers. Her background includes femtosecond laser-material interactions, ultrafast near-field optics, and femtosecond laser spectroscopy and chemical imaging. She also has extensive experience with femtosecond laser-based material functionalization, including nanoparticles, solar, field-electron emission and superhydrophobic/superhydrophilic surfaces. Her credits include over 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 40 invited talks and an R&D 100 award in 2011.
